NOTICE

 

                    Notice is hereby given to all the Executive Committee members of the ITEF, Kerala Circle that  a meeting of the Executive Committee of the ITEF, Kerala Circle will be held at Ernakulam on 31-08-10 at 11 AM  to transact  the following agenda.

Agenda

 

  1. Welcome speech.
  2. Presidential address
  3. Confirmation of the minutes of the last meeting
  4. Proposed strike on 7-09-2010
  5. Organization review
  6. Any other matter with the permission of the chair

 

              As few number of items have to be transacted  the meeting will be commenced sharp at 11 AM.  Members from distant places may make available in the meeting  well in advance.   For the discussion on the transfer guidelines all the office bearers may carry with them the copy of the draft  already sent to you  for discussion at Branch level.

Strike call by Confederation and ITEF

Placed hereunder is the strike notice being served by the Confederation on the Government. Kindly ensure that all affiliates serve the strike notice on their respective heads of Departments and the units on their respective heads of offices by including as part II, the department specific demands which are long pending.

Charter of demands.

1.   Price rise of essential commodities to be contained through appropriate corrective and distributive measures like universal PDS and containing speculation in commodity market.

2.   Concrete proactive measures to be taken for linkage of employment protection in the recession stricken sectors with the stimulate package being offered to the concerned entrepreneurs and for augmenting public investment in infrastructure.

3.   Strict enforcement of all basic labour laws without any exception or exemption and stringent punitive measures for violation of labour laws.

4.   Steps to be taken for removal of all restrictive provisions based on poverty line in respect of eligibility of converge of the schemes under the Unorganized Workers Social Security Act 2008 and creation of National Fund for the Unorganized Sector to provide for a National Floor Level Social Security to all unorganized Sector workers including the contract/casual workers in line with the recommendation of National Commission on Enterprises in Unorganized Sector and Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour.

5.   Disinvestment of shares of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) is not resorted to for meeting budgetary deficit and instead their growing reserve and surplus is used for expansion and modernization purpose and also for revival of sick Public Sector Undertakings.

6.   Fill up all vacant posts and lift the ban on recruitment.

7    Stop outsourcing/contractorisation of Governmental functions

8.   Regularise all daily rated workers/employees/;Grameen Dak Sewaks and remove the ceiling on compassionate appointments; end the discrimination in the bonus ceiling of GDS employees.

9.   Withdraw PFRDA bill and extend the statutory defined benefit pension scheme to all Government employees

10. Guarantee right to strike as a fundamental right of employees.

DA raised to 45% from 1-7-2010

DA from July 2010 : AICPIN for the month of June-2010 published by Labour Bureau

Just now All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 value has been released by Labour Bureau. The value of the index stands at 174 level, so in this situation, the Dearness Allowance for Central Government Employees will be rised 10% and total of 45% (35% + 10%).

ALL INDIA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX NUMBERS FOR INDUSTRIAL WORKERS
ON BASE 2001=100 FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE, 2010

1. All India Consumer Price Index Number for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) on base 2001=100 for the month of June, 2010 increased by 2 points and stood at 174 (one hundred and seventy four).

2. During June, 2010, the index recorded an increase of 8 points in Varanasi centre, 6 points each in Quilon and Giridih centres, 5 points in 4 centres, 4 points in 8 centres, 3 points in 13 centres, 2 points in 17 centres and 1 point in 19 centres. The index decreased by 1 point each in Ludhiana and Ghaziabad centres, while in the remaining 12 centres the index remained stationary.

3. The maximum increase of 8 points in Varanasi centre is mainly due to increase in the prices of Rice, Wheat, Fresh Milk, Onion, Vegetable and Fruit items, Electricity Charges, Bus Fare, Tailoring Charges, etc. The increase of 6 points in Quilon centre is due to increase in the prices of Rice, Fish Fresh, Onion, Vegetable and Fruit items, Cigarette, Tailoring Charges, etc. and in Giridih centres it is due to increase in the prices of Mustard Oil, Fish Fresh, Turmeric Powder, Vegetable and Fruit items, Soft Coke, etc. However, the decrease of 1 point each in Ludhiana and Ghaziabad centres is due to decrease in the prices of Onion, Vegetable items, Sugar, etc.

4. The indices in respect of the six major centres are as follows :

6. Mumbai -171

5. The point to point rate of inflation for the month of June, 2010 is 13.73% as compared to 13.91% in May, 2010.

6. The CPI-IW for July, 2010 will be released on the last working day of the next month, i.e. 31st August, 2010.

Dear Comrades, 

            The representatives of two Federations met the Chairman and other Board officials on 04.08.2010 and discussed the 12 point Charter of demands, once again. Official minutes of the same is awaited. 

Thereafter, the JCA held a meeting and has unanimously decided to continue with the ongoing agitation program, for keeping up the pressure on the Board to concede to our just demands and all the Units are requested to implement the agitation program with full vigour and enthusiasm, until further communication.
